    SMASHER® is a high performance bag blender, that ensures sample homogeneity before microbial detection or identification tests.

    This innovative automated system is part of a complete sample prep solution which offers fully automated systems for food microbiology laboratories: Dilumat for automated sample dilution, and Masterclave range for culture media and broth preparation.

    SMASHER® system relies on the patented Smash technique. It crushes the sample in record time and then automatically adjusts its mixing speed for a perfectly homogenised enrichment broth.

    A study conducted by an independent laboratory showed that the SMASHER® tested at 15 and 30 second blending times made it possible to obtain results similar to those of the compared blender tested at 60 second blending time.

    Fully automated microbial identification system increased productivity & safety, full traceability and rapid results. All identification stages from reading to the recording of results are automated, optimizing workflow. As the system operates with bar-coded cards, full traceability is ensured and the risk of transcription errors is minimized. The efficiency of the VITEK® 2 Compact system relies on the advanced colorimetry technology: the system reads the latest generation VITEK®test cards – containing 64 wells to ensure accuracy – every 15 minutes using three different wavelengths.     The Encapsulator B-390 and B-395 Pro use the same unique technology, which is based on the principle that a laminar flowing liquid jet breaks up into equally sized droplets by superimposed vibration. The selectable vibration frequency determines the quantity of droplets produced; for example, 1’000 droplets are generated per second at 1’000 Hz. The droplet chain is electrostatically charged causing the droplets to repel each other, thus eliminating coalescence. The droplets fall into a hardening solution where the beads are polymerized quickly or in a cooling chamber where the beads solidify.
